There was a full moon the night before and the forecast was for a clear frosty night with cloudy weather moving in from the west. Perfect for a good dawn shot. I went to bed late and got up late. It was already past 7am before I was on the road. I had wanted to get half way up the Comeragh mountains to get a dawn shot with the ridge and lakes below. It obviously wasn't to be. I knew I would miss the "magic hour" and the sky was totally clear, I had hoped for a few clouds to catch the fiery red glow of the rising sun.
I came across this spot a few weeks ago and thought it might make an interesting panorama. With the morning opportunity fading away I settled for here. A quick trot across the bog by moonlight was interesting but not recommended for the faint-hearted, and a few clicks later and it was all over.
Time for a warm shower, hot cup of coffee and a relaxing Saturday.
