Panoramic Potography

Panorama

The word was originally coined by the Irish painter Robert Barker to describe his panoramic paintings of Edinburgh. Shown on a cylindrical surface and viewed from the inside, they were exhibited in London in 1792 as "The Panorama".

Today it means something not entirely different. With the advent of Apple Computers Quicktime, Photography entered a third dimension. It was now possible for the viewer to place themselves in a room or location and have a look around. Also known as VR Photography (they watched too much Star Trek), it has now become a relatively simple process to create high resolution interactive panoramas.
